Acorn Woodpecker - On The Hunt

Little Thomas Mountain by Lake Hemet, is one of my favorite places to watch the aerobatics of the Acorn Woodpecker! They will leap off the tree, wings in, dive straight down and swoop straight up, catching a bug in mid air. Fun to watch, hard to catch w/ the camera lens. But when you do, they are stunning to see.
